Comfort Quilts for Douglas High School

Dear Sewing Community,

In a joint effort with local sewers and quilters, Cynthia’s Fine Fabrics is calling for volunteers to: Cut, Sew/Piece, Press, Quilt, Bind, Embroider, Label and Finish Comfort Quilts for the Douglas High School victims and families. We are estimating that we will need to create 90+ quilts. Our goal is to produce patchwork quilts 48” x 58” backed with minky over the next 4-5 weeks. We have kits being prepared, materials are being donated, and planning is in place for us to start this week. If you are willing to participate, please respond with Your Name, available times (days, nights) and phone number. You can use our form at the bottom of this page.

Long arm quilters we need your help too, please call Cynthia at 954-724-2900 if you are available.

In addition a special memorial quilt for Douglas High School is being planned to include Photos and the names of the victims. Thus we are gathering the names and photos of the victims for the memorial quilt. If you can help us make sure we are not overlooking a victim or next of kin please comment below or call the shop 954-724-2900.

Our thoughts and prayers are going out to; our community, the victims, the family’s, the students, teachers, and administration at MSDHS.
